Yes. Moissanite is a gemstone made of silicon carbide. It was first discovered in a meteor crater in 1893, and every moissanite used in jewelry today is lab-grown. It is not a diamond and we never call it one. It is its own stone, with more fire than a diamond.

Standard thermal diamond testers read moissanite as diamond, because both stones carry heat the same way. Multi-testers that also measure electrical conductivity can tell them apart. We sell a tester pen so you can check any stone yourself.

Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale. Diamond is 10. That makes it one of the hardest gemstones there is, and well suited to everyday wear.

GRA is a grading report for moissanite. It lists the stone's color, clarity and cut, with a unique serial number for your piece. Every Crater stone comes with one.

Yes. Our jewelry is 925 sterling silver, which is 92.5% pure silver. Gold pieces are 18K gold-plated over sterling silver.

Sterling silver can slowly darken over time. A quick wipe with a polishing cloth brings it back. Take your jewelry off before swimming, showering or working out, and store it dry, and it will stay bright much longer. The same care keeps gold plating looking new.
